Planning a Fredericksburg Bachelorette Wine Tour

Three friends taking a selfie with glasses of sparkling wine above the vineyard rows

Fredericksburg has become one of the favorite bachelorette spots in Texas, and the wine tour is usually the main event. We've hosted a lot of these days, and here's how to make the tour the easiest part of the weekend for the bride and the maid of honor.

Book private

A Private tour means it's only your group in the van. Pick the wineries, play your own playlist and take as many photos as you want. Our Mercedes-Benz Sprinter fits up to 11 guests, and the price is per van: $850 Sunday through Thursday, $1,095 on Fridays and Saturdays and $1,195 on peak holiday and festival weekends. For a Saturday group of ten, that's about $110 each.

Private tours usually run 1 to 5 PM. Want more time? Add extra time for $175 an hour and start at noon.

Pick wineries that love groups

Group rules vary a lot, and that's where we come in. A few things we plan around:

  • Texas Wine Collective has lots of outdoor space and pours several Texas wineries plus cider, so everyone finds something.
  • Heath Sparkling Wines is all bubbles, which is perfect for a toast. Groups over six need approval, so book early.
  • Signor Vineyards has gorgeous gardens for photos, but asks groups of six or more to get approval and to skip costumes and party gear.
  • Kalasi Cellars seats bigger groups through a tour and tasting or a private tasting rather than at the bar.

Tell us your group size and vibe, and we'll pick three that welcome you and reserve every stop.

Make the money easy

  • One person books. A 50% deposit holds the date, and the balance is charged to the card on file 5 days before your tour.
  • Add the Tasting Pass. At $89 per guest, tastings at all three stops are prepaid, so the bride never sees a bill.
  • Gratuity is never automatic. It's always appreciated, and you can decide at the end of the day.

Timing tips

  • Book 6 to 10 weeks ahead for spring and fall Saturdays. Private tours book online 7 or more days out.
  • Plan a real lunch before pickup, and dinner reservations for after drop-off.
  • Sushi Tiki on West Main is a fun Saturday dinner, and Vaudeville's Sunday fried chicken is the perfect recovery lunch.

Outfits and props

Coordinated colors photograph beautifully against the vines. Sashes and a veil for the bride are perfect. Save the big props for your rental, since some wineries ask groups to skip them. More ideas in my post on what to wear on a wine tour.

Where to stay

Pickup and drop-off at your lodging inside the city limits are included. If your group is small, book both suites at Bubbly, my B&B one block from downtown. It's adults only, and the tiled patio is made for a bride-to-be toast.
